A Short Walk to KL’s Urban Rainforest

Destination

KL Forest Eco Park, formerly known as the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, is one of the oldest permanent forest reserves in Malaysia and the only tropical rainforest within Kuala Lumpur’s city center. Just minutes from the bustle of Raja Chulan, it offers lush greenery, canopy walks, and trails that showcase native flora and fauna. Visitors can experience the rare contrast of skyscrapers rising above a living rainforest — making this walk a unique blend of nature and city life.



In less than 10 minutes, you can step out of the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur and into a 9-hectare tropical rainforest right in the heart of the city. The KL Forest Eco Park offers a rare chance to experience lush greenery, diverse wildlife, and elevated canopy walks—all within walking distance from the Raja Chulan Monorail Station.


Step-by-Step Directions

  • Start at Raja Chulan Monorail Station
    Exit the station via Exit A and head towards Jalan Tengah. Walk straight along the road, keeping an eye out for the signs pointing to KL Tower.

Turn left on the ground level and head to the main road, Jalan Tengah.




Head Towards KL Tower

The Eco Park sits at the base of KL Tower. As you approach, you’ll notice the greenery rising above the city skyline—a hint of the rainforest waiting for you.


Head straight along Jalan Tengah sidewalk towards the KL Tower in the distance.



Walk safely and cross Jalan P. Ramlee at the traffic light junction to your left. After crossing, head right and then turn left onto Jalan Puncak.

Continue straight ahead. KL Forest Eco Park entrance is on the left at the end of this road.

Within minutes, you’ll reach the entrance to the park. Step inside, and you’ll immediately feel the shift from urban buzz to natural calm.

What to Explore Inside

  • 200-Meter Canopy Walk
    Suspended high among the treetops, this walkway offers panoramic views of the city skyline while immersing you in the rainforest canopy. Look out for butterflies fluttering by and birds calling from above


Hiking Trails

Winding up and down the hills, the trails lead you through towering tropical trees. Each path reveals a different perspective of the forest, from shaded undergrowth to sunlit clearings.
