Founded in 1864 by Kapitan Yap Ah Loy, the Sin Sze Si Ya Temple is the oldest Taoist temple in Kuala Lumpur. Dedicated to deities Sin Sze Ya and Si Sze Ya, it played a central role in the city’s early development and remains a spiritual and cultural landmark today.

The temple is known for its intricate architecture, with ornate roof ridges, red pillars, and decorative carvings. Inside, visitors will find altars, incense coils, and traditional fortune‑telling practices. Despite being surrounded by modern city life, the temple preserves a sense of history and devotion, offering a glimpse into KL’s Chinese heritage.
