The Telekom Museum is a hidden gem in Kuala Lumpur’s heritage district, housed in a colonial‑era building that once served as the city’s telecommunications office.

Inside, visitors can explore Malaysia’s journey from the early days of the telegraph and rotary phones to the digital age. Exhibits include vintage switchboards, classic telephones, and stories of how connectivity shaped the nation.

Just minutes from Masjid Jamek LRT station, the museum offers a quiet, educational stop that blends history with technology — perfect for curious wanderers and history lovers alike.



Kuala Lumpur’s city center is full of hidden gems tucked between its busy streets. One of them is the Telekom Museum, a quiet heritage building that tells the story of Malaysia’s telecommunications history. Best of all, it’s just a short five-minute walk from Masjid Jamek LRT station (LRT Kelana Jaya Line).



The Walk

  • Exit the Station Once you reach the ground level by escalator, head out through the left gate. The bustle of Masjid Jamek surrounds you, but the museum is only a few minutes away.

  • Turn Left, Then Right Step outside and turn left. At the T-junction, make a right turn. The street narrows into a corridor of shops and offices, with the hum of traffic blending into the rhythm of footsteps.

  • Straight Ahead Continue walking straight for about three minutes. The path is shaded by old trees and lined with colonial-era buildings that hint at Kuala Lumpur’s layered past.

  • Arrive at the Telekom Museum On your left, the Telekom Museum appears—a stately white building with arched windows and a quiet charm. Its architecture reflects the city’s heritage, inviting you to step inside and explore.
