Walking Guide: KL Sentral → National Museum

A Ten‑Minute Stroll into History

Destination

The National Museum (Muzium Negara) is Malaysia’s premier cultural institution, showcasing artifacts from prehistory to independence. Its sweeping rooflines and mural‑lined facade make it one of Kuala Lumpur’s most recognizable landmarks.



Route Directions

  1. At KL Sentral Station, follow the signs to MRT.

  2. Take the escalator up to the link bridge connecting KL Sentral with MRT Kajang Line Muzium Negara Station.

  3. Descend via three escalators to reach the MRT concourse.

  4. Purchase a token at the Customer Service counter or tap in with your Touch ’n Go card.

    • Fare: RM0.80 (cash & card)

  5. Head right to another ticket gate and exit.

  6. Turn left towards Entrance B (Pintu B).

  7. Ascend to ground level via the escalator, then turn right.

  8. The National Museum stands just steps away on your right.


Walking Time: ~10 minutes





Follow the signs to MRT.

Go up via the escalator.

You'll arrive at MRT Muzium Negara Station after three descending escalators.

Purchase a token (RM0.80) at the counter at Muzium Negara MRT Station. 



Enter the station and head right to another ticket gate.



Exit the MRT station through the ticket gate and head left towards Entrance B (Pintu B).
Go up to the ground level via the escalator and head right.

Arrive at National Museum (Muzium Negara) on your right.
